Starting from 2019, selected project participating at the Feature Launch training will be awarded by the KVIFF & MIDPOINT Development Award of 10.000 EUR.

The award will be given out at the Karlovy Vary IFF after the final presentation of the Feature Launch projects.

The KVIFF & MIDPOINT Development Award is a joint award of MIDPOINT and the Karlovy Vary IFF and underlines the aim of the program itself – help emerging talents with their film projects.

Feature Launch is a unique training platform for emerging talents from Central and Eastern Europe who are developing their first or second feature films, working with teams of writers, directors and producers. The 9 feature film projects go through an intensive 4-module program that enables them to work closely on the script and project development, and provides them with financing and co-production opportunities. During the creative process 4 selected script consultant trainees join them.

MIDPOINT Feature Launch is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, the Czech Film Fund and the Audiovisual Producers' Association. It is presented in cooperation with the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, Trieste Film Festival, When East Meets West, Lithuanian Film Centre, connecting cottbus, CineMart, Art Department Masterclass and AMU.
