The film is produced by Mimesis Film and coproduced by Czech Television and Cinema Defacto in France. "The film is primarily a film of our times and deals with an unlikely friendship between a patriotic prison guard and an unemployed hypochondriac," the director told FNE.
The film was supported by the Czech State Cinematography Fund and the Ile de France region in France. The shoot was wrapped after 42 days of shooting in the Czech Republic. The total budget was 600,000 EUR. The film is expected to be released in November this year.
Vaclav's last film, The Way Out, also produced by Jan Macola, was awarded seven prizes at the Czech Lions Awards in 2014 and was the most awarded Czech film last year.
