Lodz, FAMU Top Best Film Schools List

By

PRAGUE: Poland’s Lodz Film School and Prague’s FAMU film school rank high among the top fifteen international film schools in the Hollywood Reporter’s 2014 annual listings.

Lodz came in at number two and FAMU moved up to the number four slot.

Lodz was cited for the ability of students to work on 35 mm stock, the master-student teaching formula, and the large number of student projects that come out of the school’s film studio each year. Its notable alumni include Roman Polanski at the top of a long list of Oscar and A-list festival award winners.

FAMU’s international programme received special note, including its exchange programmes with leading U.S. film schools and its English language instruction. Among its notable graduates are Milan Kundera and Milos Forman.

The two were the only schools from the CEE region to make the 2014 top 15 list.
