Creative Europe Desk Polska and KIPA Focus on Viewers

By

WARSAW: August 11, 2014 is the deadline for project submissions to the workshop that will take place during the 39th Gdynia Film Festival.

The Emerging Producers Section of KIPA and Creative Europe Desk Polska invite English-speaking film directors, producers and screenwriters who wish to develop their project with a special focus on the potential viewers during a special FRONT TO THE VIEWER workshop that will take place 16-17 September.

The submitted projects should be in a first-draft stage of development or further and exhibit potential to become an international production with a strong attendance.

The workshop will be divided into two parts: a series of lectures that will be open to the public and closed sessions created for the participants to work on their projects. The programme includes meetings and lectures from experts such as Lucy Scher, the creator of The Script Factory and the Screenplay readings in London project, who will teach the participants how to create a script with a potential viewer in mind. Mathias Noschis, the creator of the Alphapanda PR agency and Jan Naszewski, a Polish sales agent and creator of the New Europe Film Sales focusing on challenging film and TV titles from the CEE region, will present modern strategies of film marketing focused on audience reception.

“The workshops are supposed to focus the attention of producers and filmmakers on this most important aspect of each production – the recipient,” says Joanna Szymańska, the coordinator of the workshops. “In the development phase, we often do not pay attention to what awaits us at the end of the process: confrontation with the audience. The aim of our meeting is to make the creators aware of the fact that the viewer should be remembered about from the very first moment of working on the film.”
