Romtelecom Launches Two Channels

    BUCHAREST: Romtelecom will begin airing Shorts TV and Comedy Central Extra on 11 February 2013 as part of the company’s revamped visual identity.

    Shorts TV is owned by Shorts International (75%) and Chellomedia (25%). It will be broadcast in Romania on cable, DTH and IPTV.

    Comedy Central Extra is an American channel operated by Viacom International Media Networks, and is a sister channel to Comedy Central.

    The shareholders of Romtelecom are OTE International Investments Ltd., Greece (ote.gr) with 54.01% and the Ministry of Communications and Informational Society with 45.99%.

    Romtelecom temporarily lost 11 channels from Pro TV S.A. at the end of 2012, during which time it added HBO and HBO Comedy.
