The series, HBO’s third to be produced in Romania, is set to air on HBO Romania in early 2015.

Small Time Gangster is a dark comedy and drama adapted from an Australian format about a taxi driver with a side job working for a Bucharest mobster. After he accidentally kills someone, he is unable to find a way out of the the mob.

Gopo Award winner Igor Cobileanski is the lead director. The script was written by Bogdan Mirica.

The series is produced by Dragos Vilcu for Multimedia Est. Wayne Henry is executive producer and Aurelian Nica is the producer for HBO, and Carmen Harabagiu is executive producer for HBO Romania. The series is licensed by DRG Formats from the UK.
