    BRATISLAVA: The Slovak Film Instutute has organised a special panorama of Slovak film to be presented at the Molodist IFF (25 October-2 November 2014) in Kiev.

    The Slovak Focus spans the history of Slovak filmmaking, from 1921 full-length film Janosik directed by th by Jaroslav Siakel about Slovak national hero to the 2014 omnibus film Slovakia 2.0 produced by MPhilms by ten leading contemporary Slovak directors. The selection includes the film that launched the Czechoslovak New Wave, The Sun in a Net by Stefan Ufer, Birds, Orphans and Fools by Juraj Jakubisko and Dusan Hanak’s documentary masterpiece Pictures of the Old World. The programme will include screenings of Slovak fairy tales for children. The Slovak Focus will also be screened in the Ukrainian city of Lviv.
