VAMA: Just the Two of Us, directed by Nina Blazin (Slovenia), shot by Erno-Aron Palfi-Horvath (Hungary, Romania) and edited by Raluca Petre (Romania) is the winner of the 9th edition of the Aristoteles Documentary Workshop. The film is a love story between two old people who have spent a lifetime together.

BUCHAREST: Romanian films are starting to make major inroads into the domestic theatrical market  with eight new features set for release in a crowded autumn schedule. Most of the productions were suppported primarily by the Romanian Film Center. Three are directorial feature debuts.

BUCHAREST: Romanian Director/screenwriter Ruxandra Zenide will start shooting her second feature, The Miracle of Tekir/Miracolul din Tekir on 20 October, a Swiss/Romanian coproduction planned for release in spring 2015.

WARSAW: Croatia, Estonia, Latvia and Georgia have announced their submissions for the Best Foreign-Language Film at the 87th Academy Awards.

ZAGREB: The popular Croatian theater, film and television actor Zvonimir Torjanac died in Zagreb at 84.

VALLETTA: Francesco Cinquemani’s Sci Fi/action/adventure movie Andron-The Black Labyrinth starring Deborah Anne Dyer (aka Skin, the lead vocalist of British band Skunk Anansie) wrapped shooting in Malta on 5 September 2014 with Malta’s Falkun Films providing services.

ZAGREB: Propeler Film is in production with volume 3 of the successful portmanteau film Zagreb Stories focusing this time on a holiday theme.

FNE together with Europa Distribution is launching a new chapter of the Distributor of the Month section. This time we focus on new strategies in film distribution and the importance of domestic film festivals in releasing new titles. We will also be looking at what distributors can do in order to prevent piracy.
