BUCHAREST: Universal's fantasy film Dragonheart 4 by Patrik Syversen, a direct-to-video sequel to the series Dragonheart 3: The Sorcerer's Curse, was shot entirely in Romania and has moved to postproduction.

BUCHAREST: Director/producer Dinu Tănase (At the End of the Line, Studioul Cinematografic București) is in postproduction with Frozen Ignat (working title), a drama set to be released in spring 2017.

CLUJ-NAPOCA: Bogdan Mirică 's debut feature Dogs / Câini won the Transilvania Trophy at the 15th Transilvania IFF, the first and largest international feature film festival in Romania, which took place in Cluj-Napoca from 27 May to 5 June 2016.

ZAGREB: The Croatian Audiovisual Centre allotted 337,846 EUR / 2,537,050 HRK as development funding for feature films, documentaries and animated films, as well as for short films production on 1 June 2016. The amount of funding for TV productions is yet to be decided.

BUCHAREST: Cătălin Mitulescu's romantic comedy By the Rails / Dincolo de calea ferată has been acquired by the sales agent Cercamon World Sales.

CLUJ-NAPOCA: Discordia, the debut feature by the film critic Ion Indolean, is an independent film produced by a company from Cluj-Napoca, Hola Media. The film will screen in the Romanian Days at the 15th edition of Transilvania IFF (TIFF, 27 May - 5 June 2016).

BUCHAREST: The Romanian National Film Center has allotted approximately 6.8 m EUR / 30.5 m RON in its first session in 2016. Fifteen feature films including new projects by Radu Jude, Corneliu Porumboiu and Radu Muntean, received funding.
