The series consists of two TV films about a witty Croatian detective, Branka Marić, entitled Branka Marić and the Devil of Split and Branka Marić and the Lost Son. It is the first time a German series features daily life in Croatia.

Production services are handled by Pakt Media, a Croatian/Slovene production company. Local spend will be 13 m HRK, with a rebate of 2.5 m HRK under Croatia’s tax incentives. The cast includes over 400 Croatian extras and supporting actors and Croatians make up two-thirds of the crew.
