Womb picked up for North American release

Womb, from Hungarian writer/director Benedek Fliegauf, has been picked up for distribution in North America by Olive Film. World sales agent Match Factory (www.the-match-factory.com) announced that the film will have its North American premiere on September 14 at the Toronto Film Festival.

Olive Films will release the film theatrically in 2011.

Womb had its international premiere at the Locarno film festival in early August.

The film was produced by Berlin-based Razor Film (Roman Paul, Gerhard Meixner) and Inforg Stúdió Budapest (András Muhi, www.inforgstudio.hu), and was co-produced by Paris-based A.S.A.P. Films (Cedomir Kolar, Marc Baschet), ZDF/Arte and Arte Cinéma.

Womb is Fliegauf's first English language feature film and stars Eva Green and Matt Smith.
