The festival which merging the largest existing festivals in Latvia, 2ANNAS and the National Film Festival Lielais Kristaps, runs from 2-12 December.
The event will include the Riga Meetings from 9-12 December organised by the National Film Centre of Latvia www.nkc.gov.lv.
On 9 December the day will be devoted to Baltic Films – the programme will include the most recent films from Lithuania and Estonia. On 10 December the International Federation of Film Critics, FIPRESCI, will host a conference on Latvian cinema in the European context.
A highlight of the day will be a workshop for students on Video Interviews for Web TV hosted by Film New Europe and led by Anna Franklin. The best of the students’ interviews will have a chance to appear on FNE TV.
On 11 December, people will have the opportunity to attend different lectures and seminars led by such film industry stars as Wim Wenders and Agnieszka Holland. There will also be daily film screenings and corresponding networking events with the filmmakers.
