FESTIVALS: Vilnius IFF Opens with Carnage

    {mosimage}VILNIUS: 17th Vilnius International Film Festival "Kino Pavasaris" (http://kinopavasaris.lt) will open on 15 March 2012 with Roman Polanski's Carnage and hold its gala closing on 29 March.

    The programme consists of 187 films, including 60 shorts. Since 2009 Vilnius IFF has presented a competition programme "New Europe - New Names" for the best debut films from Eastern and Central Europe. The ten films selected come from Hungary, Romania, Poland, Serbia, Estonia, Slovenia, Slovakia, and Bulgaria. In addition, this year the festival will bow a competition of short films from the Central and Eastern Europe.

    The festival's annual Industry Event "Meeting Point - Vilnius" runs 26 - 29 March.
