According to Malta Film Commission, this adrenaline fuelled drama series about the last days of mankind faced with an imminent collision with a comet, is produced by UK's Working Title Television and Bigballs Films for Sky 1 and NBC. Other locations include the UK and South Africa.

NBCUniversal International Television Production, which operates a joint television production venture with Working Title Television, will distribute the series worldwide.

Film Commissioner Engelbert Grech stated that "the new cash rebates and the consistent marketing drive that the Malta Film Commission has put together are bearing results.” Malta Film Commission provides a rebate of up to 25% of eligible expenditure with an additional 2% if the production features Malta culturally.
