Malta to Upgrade Cinemas

VALLETTA: Malta will see 500,000 EUR going into upgrading cinemas in six cinema complexes.

According to Malta Today, the government announced the upgrade two years ago, allotting funding in its budget, to prevent out-of-date cinemas from closing. The funds will be used to install digital technology.

In addition, data will be gathered about the cinemas, the audiences, and free or subsidised tickets for those in need.   The government also expressed a wish that cinemas screen more Maltese and European films.
