PRODUCTION: Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard Shoot Assassin’s Creed in Malta

    VALLETTA: Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard are reuniting for the shooting of Justin Kurzel’s new project, Assassin’s Creed, which has just started filming in Malta and is benefitting from the tax incentives scheme of Malta Film Commission

    The story is about a revolutionary technology that unlocks genetic memories. Callum Lynch experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain and discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins.

    New Regency, Ubisoft Motion Pictures, DMC Films and Kennedy/Marshall are producing, with 20th Century Fox distributing. The film will open in theatres worldwide on 21 December 2016.

    The Minister for Tourism, Edward Zammit Lewis said that the eight major foreign production shooting in Malta in 2015 shows that the strategy adopted by the Government is reaping benefits, while the Film Commissioner Engelbert Grech, said that Malta has truly become a key film location.
