Malta Film Commissioner Resigns

By FNE Staff
The Malta Film Commissioner, Luisa Bonello, resigned for personal reasons, after four years in the post. She was replaced by Anthony Sammut, who will serve as acting Film Commissioner.

Bonello is credited with guiding the Malta film service industry into a productive period, with foreign film productions flocking to Malta over the past few years. According to a report in Times of Malta, during Bonello's tenure, there was at least one film in preparation or production every day of the past four years excepting for a brief period during the global financial crisis of 2009.
