Telewizja Polska SA (www.tvp.pl) and BBC Worldwide (www.bbcworld.com) signed an agreement for future collaboration on 25 May 2012.

The two national TV stations are currently coproducing the historical espionage series Spies of Warsaw. Filming began on 11 April and will continue until early June in and around Warsaw as well as the Krakow region.

In a statement, Juliusz Braun, the President of TVP SA, said, "We are extremely pleased with the cooperation undertaken co-producing the project Spies of Warsaw." He added, "I am happy that our cooperation will continue and will bring other great projects not just this autumn."

"BBC Worldwide has enjoyed a productive partnership with TVP SA over the years, and Spies of Warsaw takes that relationship into new territory, by bringing the Polish and UK creative industries together on a landmark drama," John Smith, BBC Worldwide Chief Executive Officer, said. "I hope it will be the first of many collaborations between our two companies."
