After eight weeks in regular American and Canadian distribution Ida has brought in 2.065 m USD. During the weekend 22-24 June 2014 it was also one of the few titles that didn't lose viewers in comparison to earlier results, earning 268,000 USD.
Ida premiered in the US on 2 May 2014 and on 9 May 2014 in Canada, distributed in both territories by Music Box Films. The film, starring Agata Kulesza and Agata Trzebuchowska, was produced by Opus Film in coproduction with Canal+ Cyfrowy and Phoenix Film Investment.
The title was sold to over 40 countries into regular distribution including France, Germany, Israel, USA and Canada. Most recently it was added to the “City in Focus: Warsaw” project, a retrospective of Polish films in Taipei, organized by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute and co-financed by the Polish Film Institiute.
