Third International Screenwriters Conference to Take Place in Warsaw

    WARSAW: The World Conference of Screenwriters will take place this year from 1-2 October 2014 in Warsaw.

    The conference is organised by the Polish Filmmakers Association in partnership with the Federation of Screenwriters in Europe and the International Affiliation of Writers Guild, and co-organised by Creative Europe Desk Poland.

    With top screenwriters from around the world, conference aims to build international solidarity for and by screenwriters. This year’s edition will concentrate on writing for television.

    The sessions will include panels and discussions, dealing with issues such as writing for an international market, the rise of new genres in TV and film, and the lack of women writers in film and TV.

    Professionals taking part include the head of the Polish Film Institute Agnieszka Odorowicz, the head of the Polish Filmmakers Association Jacek Bromski and film director and screenwriter Andrzej Wajda.

    It is supported by the Polish Film Institute, as well as the Capital City of Warsaw, Telewizja Polska, ZAiKS Authors' Association, and ZAPA (the Union of Audiovisual Authors and Producers).

    Registration for the conference is organised by participating national guilds. There is no individual registration for the conference.
