The Floppy Bear / Miś Uszatek is a character with a floppy ear from the stop motion animated TV series created by Polish writer Czesław Janczarski and cartoonist Zbigniew Rychlicki. The 104 episodes series was produced by Se-ma-for and broadcast by Telewizja Polska between 1975 and 1987.
The full feature will be a prequel to the series, with Floppy Bear being produced in the toy factory and rejected by the quality expert because of his floppy ear. The main character will be played by Maciej Stuhr accompanied by Czesław Mozil as his assistant Hare.
The idea for a full feature film came from Piotr Jasek, who is also the screenwriter. The film is produced by TFP and FremantleMedia Polska. Studio Orka is coproducing and managing the animation elements and the postproduction.
The film received production support of 23,300 EUR / 100,000 PLN from the Polish Film Institute. The final budget of the project has not been announced yet.
