PRODUCTION: Polish Costume Drama Daas in Production

    After a month of filming, the Polish history drama Daas will wrap shooting on 27 November. The film is expected to be completed in time for the Gdynia national film festival scheduled for May 2011.

    Daas is the feature debut of Adrian Panek, a television and music video filmmaker who was the second director during the shoot of Maiden Vows by Filip Bajon (KALEJDOSKOP Film Studio,www.kalejdoskop.art.pl). The film's all-star Polish cast includes Mariusz Bonaszewski, Andrzej Chyra and Olgierd Łukaszewicz in the three leading roles.

    The 18th century drama will evolves around the intoxicating power of faith, following the life of a government official and an inventor Jakub Goliński involved in a religious sect. The film is pegged to be a success in the mode of Maiden Vows directed by Filip Bajon, who is the artistic advisor for this film.

    Dass is produced by Lambros Ziotas and his company Agromedia Production with a total budget of 3.6 million PLN (EUR 907,000). The film received 3 million PLN in financing from the Polish Film Institute (www.pisf.pl). Agromedia Production is in negotiations with Best Film (www.bestfilm.com.pl) to distribute the film.
