    BUCHAREST: Ionaș Dreams of Rain / Ionaș visează că plouă by Dragoș Hanciu won the Best Film Award at the 11th Aristoteles Workshop. This year's experts and tutors were Thierry Garrel, Nino Kirtadze, John Appel and Tania Rakhmanova.

    Ionaș Dreams of Rain was lensed by Ileana Gabriela Szasz and edited by Maria Bălănean. The jury consisted of Kumjana Novakova, Nicolas Feodoroff, Thanos Stavropoulos and Dan Curean.

    Over 80 young filmmakers from 22 countries applied to the documentary workshop, that every year organises the participants in three-member teams – a director, a cinematographer and an editor, giving them four weeks to create a documentary, from choosing the subject to editing and postproduction.

    In 2016 the twelve participants came from Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, Finland, England and Germany. The 11th Aristoteles Workshop took place in Șurdești, Maramureș county, from 23 August to 24 September 2016, and it was supported by Baia Mare 2021, European Capital of Culture and the Romanian Film Centre (CNC).
