First drive in to open in Bucharest

By Iulia Blaga

Bucharest will have its first drive-in cinema, located at Băneasa Shopping City, set to open July 1.

The drive in can hold over 300 cars. The movies will be screened in digital on the mall's wall, with sound received through the audio system of each car.

The screen is 23.5m long and 10m high. Fares will range from €3.60 to €4.75. Children, students and retired persons will pay €2.40.

The first experience Romanians had with a drive-in cinema was at the Transilvania Film Festival (TIFF) at Cluj-Napoca last year.
