He shot the film in just two days, 16-17 October 2010, in an apartment in Bucharest. The film is produced by his company, Fast Film SRL, which he founded in 2003, and with the help of Andrei Butică and Cătălin F. Cristuţiu and their company We Are Basca (www.wearebasca.ro). The actors are also friends of his: Gabriel Spahiu (which he used in A Tube with A Hat/Lampa cu căciulă, the most awarded Romanian short ever), Şerban Pavlu (The Happiest Girl in the World) and Lucia Maier. Andrei Butică is the DOP and Cătălin Cristuţiu the editor. The film is now in the sound post-production and was edited with just two cuts.
Jude said he applied for funding from SEE Cinema Network (http://www.filmfund.gov.mk/ShortReg_Konkurs_SEE_CN.pdf) but didn't pass the national jury. Instead of seeking other funding, he put his own money (10,000 euros) in the film, saying that it is planned to be ultra-low-budget. The director told FNE that he will send it to festivals, television channels, sales agents, and others. "If we won't succeed, we will put it on the internet, to be seen free of charge", he said. No premiere date is set.
The Happiest Girl in the World was sold to Slovenia, ex-Yugoslavia and Austria by sales agent Films Boutique (www.filmsboutique.com). Another Jude's feature project, Everybody from Our Family/Toată lumea din familia noastră received a production grant from the Romanian National Centre for Cinema (www.cncinema.abt.ro) this year and is scheduled to shoot in summer 2011.
