BELGRADE: Serbian writer/director Marina Radmilac is currently in postproduction with her debut feature Operation Opera /  Operacija Opera, in which one of the key roles is played by well-known French actor Denis Lavant. The film is a Serbian/Slovenian coproduction.

Alexander is an expat returning from the West to Belgrade for the restitution of his family's property and with an intent of making an opera based on Shakespeare's Richard III. As the pressure mounts, as well as his obsession with his psychiatrist, he faces mental breakdown.

Marina Radmilac penned the script together with Strike Lucicki and the cast includes Strike Lucicki, George Ilich, Marija Šević and Lidija Andonov.

Serbia’s Satibara is producing in coproduction with Slovenia’s NuFrame and the Yugotranslate Institut. The budget has not been disclosed.

The film was shot from October 2016 up to August 2017.
