PRODUCTION: Documentary Comeback in Postproduction

    BRATISLAVA: Slovak director Miro Remo is in postproduction with the documentary Comeback, a social study of the world of prisoners following the life of two repeat offenders as they make their first steps outside the gates of the most closely watched Slovak jail, accompanied by a journalist.

     

    Remo wrote the script. Jaroslav Vaľko, Ivo Miko, Mário Ondriš are the DOPs. Barbara Harumová Hessová is producing for AH Productions in coproduction with VSMU, the Film Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (www.vsmu.sk). The Ministry Of Culture of the Slovak Republic (www.culture.gov.sk) and the Slovak Audiovisual Fund (www.avf.sk) are supporting the film. The project was pitched at Karlovy Vary - Docu Talents From The East 2011 (http://www.kviff.com/en/for-film-industry/works-in-progress/), Jihlava Doc Launch 2011 (www.dokument-festival.cz).

    The budget is 97 000 Euro, Barbara Harumová Hessová told FNE. Shooting started in 2009 in one of the most closely watched Slovak jail Ilava and later in Bratislava and the of Trenčín area. The film is scheduled to be finished in 2012. The premiere is still to be determined.
