Turkish TV series sell abroad

    Turkish TV series are taking off in Eastern Europe as well as Arabic countries, according to a new Eurodata report.

    The most striking example is Gümüş (Silver) which has become very popular in Bulgaria, where it was the most watched programme of 2009 with 1.96 million viewers. Its market share in Bulgaria was 60.4%.

    Gümüş has enjoyed success in Arab countries as well, with Egypt and Lebanon taking the lead.
