Three projects from DOK.Incubator workshop have been nominated in the main categories:
“Something Better to Come”, a film by DOK.Incubator observer Hanna Polak /PL/, is nominated for the IDFA Competition for Feature-Length Documentary. The director had been following her main character Yula for 14 years since she was 11 until she turns 25 on her way out of the Europe´s biggest garbage dump.
The jury of the IDFA Competition for First Appearance will also need to decide between two of DOK.Incubator 2014 participants: “Drifter” by Gabor Hörcher/HU/DE/ following 18-year-old rebel Risci on his coming out of age and complicated way towards his big dream: a rally trophy and Eva Tomanova’s debut “Always Together” /CZ/ portraying an unusual Czech family living with nine children on sunlit meadows: which seem to be a paradise – but the father is a disciplinarian and leads his family with a heavy hand.
The winners will be announced on Friday, November 28 in the evening, at the closing ceremony of the 27th IDFA in Amsterdam’s Compagnietheater.
