DOK.Incubator invites editors, directors and producers with a project in the rough-cut stage and editors, sales people and film institutions’ representatives as observers to apply before March 3rd.
Since the very beginning, a half of the participants is coming from the eastern and central European region, and the programme bring talented filmmakers from these countries to the top stages: The Hungarian project “Drifter“won the Best First Appearance at IDFA 2014, beating another nominated, Czech project from DOK.Incubator – Always Together. The Polish „Queen of Spades” competed at the feature-length competition, where 2013 observer' s Hanna Polak's film „Something Better to Come“ gained the Special Jury Award. Romanian „Chuck Norris vs. Communism“ was featured in the World Documentary Competition at Sundance 2015. Now it´s time for new projects to apply!
The programme offers a team of the editing mentors help the participants to develop new ways how to tell the story, to focus the topic of the film, to sharpen the storytelling, the production mentors assist the producers to deal with the financing, team management and distribution, marketing tutors follow the teams to position the film, to target the audience, to gain relevance internationally and the distribution tutors build with the participants a sophisticated strategy how to reach a wider audience, and search for new opportunities to break into the market.
The programme open gates also to a testing audience: experienced sales people, festivals’ and broadcasters’ representatives, who help the participants to design an effective tailor-made distribution strategy. For more information or to apply, please, visit the programme website www.dokincubator.net
