Regiofund Forum consists of 4 days of intensive project development culminating in a pitching session with an international group of representatives of film institutions, regional film funds, producers, television broadcasters, distributors, sales agents, and private investors. Regiofund Forum was created out of the success of numerous industry events organised for seventh previous editions of the International Festival of Film Producers Regiofun.
“We have decided that the section of Regiofun that was held in the highest esteem was its industry part. Therefore, we have chosen to make more of it, so that the film industry would be the event’s main focus in the following years,” says Patryk Tomiczek, the director of the Silesia Film Institute.
The Forum’s main event is a pitching session for European film projects, as well as one-to-one meetings with industry professionals. The organizers await ambitious projects at advanced development stage (with script already available), and with an international co-production potential.
The submission deadline is August 14th. To submit a project you have to fill in the form which you can find at www.forumregiofund.pl/en. Registration is free of charge.
Regiofund Forum’s schedule is complemented by workshops and meetings for film industry professionals; the seventh edition of “Young Producer” workshops aimed predominantly at students and film schools’ graduates; Regio-Cannes which is a series of screenings of films from the prestigious French festival; a study visit for producers and location managers during which the participants will get to know many potentially attractive film locations in Silesia.
This year’s Regiofund Forum will be held in Katowice from October 4th through 7th. Its organizer, Silesia Film, is a cultural institution of the Silesian voivodeship which has been also successfully running Silesia Film Commission and Silesian Film Fund for the last couple of years.
