GNFC Appeal to Film Professionals and Film Organisations

    Due to the war waged by the Russian authorities against the sovereign state of Ukraine, taking into account the sanctions imposed on Russia by the world and the call of the Ukrainian Film Academy, the Georgian National Film Center calls on Georgian film producers, distributors, film festivals and exhibitors to refrain from:

    • Coproductions with Russia, if such coproduction is funded by Russian state organisations;
    • Inviting filmmakers to Georgia who support the war against Ukraine and Putin's violent regime;
    • The screening of films that propagate Russia's expansionist policies;

    Various international and national film organisations, film festivals and cinemas have already refused to cooperate with the Russian state in the field of cinema.
