JIHLAVA: Georgian director/producer Alexander Kvatashidze is in production with a feature documentary on war correspondents. The film will be a Georgian-Dutch-Estonian-French coproduction.

JIHLAVA: Romanian director/producer Alexandru Solomon is working on Tarzan's Testicles, a feature documentary on the Abkhazian Scientific Research Institute of Experimental Pathology and Therapy, established in 1927, a renowned primatology center during the Communist era where scientists tried to crossbreed humans and monkeys to demonstrate the triumph of the Revolution over religion.

JIHLAVA: Estonian producers Elina Litvinova from Allfilm (www.allfilm.ee) and Marianna Kaat from Baltic Film Production (www.bfp.ee) are developing The New Silk Way, a feature/TV documentary directed by Evdokiya Moskvina set for shooting early spring-late summer 2013.

BUCHAREST: Dan Chisu's Chasing Rainbows, will be released on 2 November 2012 in eight Romanian towns and on 15 screens.

ZAGREB: Igor A.Nola of Mainframe -Zagreb (www.mainframeproduction.com), the Croatian coproducer of Srdjan Dragojevic’s hit comedy Parada, is hoping to replicate its success with a slate of four films that includes at least two more international coproductions.

Hrvoje Osvadić was elected in June 2012 to head of the Croatian Producers Association (HRUP, www.hrup.hr). He spoke to FNE about the challenges he faces in his new position and the most important issues for the Croatian film industry.

BUCHAREST: Iura Luncaşu's Sweet Little Lies/Minte-mă frumos produced by MediaPro Pictures (www.mediapropictures.com) has set a new opening weekend record, narrowly besting the box office record set by Tudor Giurgiu's Of Snails and Men (www.despreoamenisimelci.ro), produced by Libra Film (www.librafilm.net), just one month earlier.
