Bosnia and Herzegovina Film Professionals Organise While Waiting for Government Response
Bosnia-Herzegovina 26-03-2020SARAJEVO: Film professionals in Bosnia and Herzegovina are trying to find their own ways to help each other as the whole film industry has ground to a halt. They are trying to adapt to the new circumstances and an usually a slow response from the ministries of culture and other responsible government bodies.
SARAJEVO: The impact of COVID-19 and the protective measures introduced on 11 March in Bosnia and Herzegovina have yet to be felt in most of the film industry. But the CineLink Workshops, which were planned for April 2020, have been moved online.
BOX OFFICE: Bosnian and Herzegovinian BO Increases For Third Consecutive Year
Bosnia-Herzegovina 03-02-2020SARAJEVO: Admissions and box office in Bosnia and Herzegovinia increased for the third year in a row with a 10.26% growth in admissions and 12.7% increase in gross in 2019, but the low market share of national films dropped even lower.
SARAJEVO: Bosnian and Herzegovinian film industry didn’t see any significant changes in 2019. There is still no Film Centre, and no indications that one might be established soon, and the Draft of the Cinema Law is still waiting for a better political climate.

Bosnia-Herzegovina 06-12-2019SARAJEVO: The up-and-coming Bosnian and Herzegovinian film director Gorčin Zec is preparing for the shoot of his first long documentary A Journey to Mastery / Put do majstorstva, about his father, the famous painter Safet Zec.
SARAJEVO: Igor Drljača, whose previous feature film The Waiting Room (TimeLapse Pictures) premiered at the Locarno Film Festival, has started postproduction on his third feature film Tabija (working title). The project was awarded the Eurimages Co-production Award at Rotterdam Film Festival’s Cinemart Co-production Market in 2014.
SARAJEVO: Pjer Žalica, whose debut Fire! (Refresh, 2003) won the Silver Leopard at the Locarno Film Festival, started production on his third feature film Focus, Grandma / Koncentriši se, baba (working title) on 28 October 2019 in Sarajevo.
SARAJEVO: Nermin Hamzagić’s debut feature film Full Moon / Pun mjesec is one of the 12 films competing at the 29th FilmFestival Cottbus, which takes place 5 – 10 November 2019
