BERLIN: Ruxandra Ghiţescu is participating in Berlinale Script Station within Berlinale Talent Campus (13-18 February 2016) with her debut feature, Otto the Barbarian. The film produced by Alien Film is set to be shot in 2017.

BUCHAREST: General admissions rose significantly in Romania by 41.72 % since 2010, while the box office rose by 46% since 2010.

TBILISI: The Georgian National Film Center gave 54,000 EUR / 150,000 GEL for the production of two short animated films for children.

Digitalisation started in December 2010 and was finished in September 2012. Cityplex Constanța has been a member of Europa Cinemas since 2011.

BUCHAREST: The new minister of Culture Vlad Alexandrescu, helped by his film adviser Andrei Rus, is planning major changes in Romanian cinema starting with the Romanian Film Center, old cinemas and film education in schools.

BUCHAREST: Uruguay, by the Spanish-born Madrid- and Bucharest-based director Jesús del Cerro, started shooting on 2 February 2016. The film stars Dragoș Bucur (The Way Back) and Cristina Flutur (Beyond the Hills, Mobra Films).

BUCHAREST: Adrian Sitaru's independent feature Illegitimate, selected for Berlinale Forum (11-21 February 2016), was picked up by the Paris-based sales agent Versatile Films.

BUCHAREST: The French CNC will share its know-how with the Romanian National Cinema Centre and the Romanian Ministry of Culture concerning the elaboration of a new Cinema Law, and a partnership between both CNCs will be signed during the Cannes Film Festival 2016.
