WARSAW: Włodzimierz Niderhaus, one of the most important and respected Polish film producers and the longtime director of the Documentary and Feature Film Studios (WFDiF) died at the age of 75 on 12 May 2020 in Warsaw.

WARSAW: Cinemas in Poland remain closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and it is not likely that they will open soon. Several Polish companies are opening drive-in cinemas both locally and on a national scale to meet the audience's demand.

WARSAW: Jacek Bromski has issued an open letter to the Polish Government, calling for a permanent change in the way streaming platforms and VOD service providers operate on the Polish market.

WARSAW: Wojciech Smarzowski is developing a drama under the working title W2. The development process has not been interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic and the shooting is planned for 2020 in Poland and Latvia.

WARSAW: The Polish Film Institute supported 10 new feature projects with over 25.2 m PLN / 5.5 m EUR. The grants were awarded in the first session of funding in 2020.
