Through the theme of «Potential Worlds» the seventh edition of BIDFF (September 1-5, 2021) invites artists and audiences alike to imagine the future of art as a dynamic ecosystem that incorporates new elements and mutations. BIDFF is looking for daring cinematic works in which the body relates to technology, ecology, and new socio-political discourses. BIDFF also addresses recent video-art formats and animations that question the relation between solid artistic content and the fast process of digitization. The curatorial approach goes towards trying to decipher, transform and shape these ideas.
BIDFF is a platform for exquisite films that use movement as their main language or the body as their main subject. Faced with the camera lenses, the body becomes the main focus of cutting-edge arthouse films with a sometimes transparent, sometimes coded meaning, but always challenging the viewer to a playful exchange of information about social life, politics, extreme emotions, interesting places and oddly beautiful aesthetics.
