Jablonski originally pitched the film at the festival's forum in 1998.The film studies the story of Ryszard Kuklinski, a Polish colonel who passed over 40,000 documents about the Warsaw Pact to the U.S. during the Cold War. He is now credited with saving the country from embarking on a Third World War. Jablonski incorporates interviews and contemporary comperter game graphics to illuminate the growing power struggle between east and west.
Jablonski was the recepient of the Joris Ivens Award at IDFA in 1998 for his documentary Fotoamator.
War Games opened in Polish cinemas in January 2009. It was produced by Jablonski's production company, Apple Film (www.applefilm.pl).
