50th Krakow FF Highlights – the third day, 2nd of June 2010

    The Krakow Film Foundation invites journalists accredited to 50th Krakow Film Festival to a meeting with Krakow Film Commission on 2nd June at 5pm, The International Cultural Centre, Rynek Główny 25

    Opening of the exhibition ‘50 years of the Krakow Film Festival in posters' - the film posters from Krzysztof Dydo's collection, SZCZEPAŃSKI SQUARE

    The exhibition shows skills and finesse of polish designers who enjoy the artistic liberty even in the times of communism. Among creators, there are the artists with international repute, such as Franciszek Starowieyski, Zbigniew Lutomski, Kuba Sowiński, Edward Lutczyn or Małgorzata Gurowska. The posters are available thanks to Kraow Poster Gallery.

    9.30pm - a screening of a film from the Somewhere in Europe cycle ‘Comrade Couture', ARS ANEKS with participation of Marco Wilms, the director of the film

    Plot: When socialism was raging around, they were having the time of their lives. Chic, gallant and strong - that is how one of the fashion underground groups in East Berlin called itself. In the controversial fashion shows, they drew fistfuls of inspiration from the reality, creating in its centre their own world the other way round.

    Plot: Pyotr Leshchenko, once a famous Russian tango singer, is now completely forgotten. Jan Bosdriesz sets off for a journey following the singer's track all the way to the Romanian concentration camp.
