Besides the prizes awarded by juries, the Audience Prize and the Contribution to World Cinematography Award are awarded each year.
The Jihlava festival is annually accompanied by the biggest section for film industry in Eastern Europe: The Institute of Documentary Film organizes the East European Forum, the meeting of East European documentarists with producers from big European televisions. Further on we cooperate on the organization of East Silver, the market for documentary films from Central and Eastern Europe. The docalliancefilms.com online portal is an all-year festival where you can download a large number of your favorite films.
Film Registration to the festival program as well as to the East Silver market will be again possible from February 2010 by June 30th 2010. On-line accreditation will start on August 15th, advance registration will be possible until October 10th. Journalists and film proffesionals can accreditate by October 15th 2010.
During the 13 years of its existence, the festival of creative documentary film has become the greatest event of its kind in Central Europe. It is legendary for its informal atmosphere, discussion character, systematic support of documentaries as well as publishing activities. The result of these (and more) can be found in our shop. We are grateful to our partners for the formation and the smooth run of the festival.
Do not forget your friends and send them our original doc.card.
You are cordially invited to the fourteenth Ji.hlava by the organizational team.
14th Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival will take place between October 26 and 31, 2010
The axis of the festival program is the four competitions: Opus Bonum for world documentaries of innovative themes and high aesthetic quality; Between the Seas presents high quality films from the countries of Central and Eastern Europe; Czech Joy surveys the newest Czech filmmaking; and the Fascinations section focuses on the marginal or even hybrid form of the documentary film - experimental documentary. Further program sections introduce the current events at the Czech as well as the international documentary scene. Translucent Beings are the retrospective profiles of remarkable filmmakers.
