Hristov told FNE that the film is „very personal” because his grandparents used to live in a nice, old house which unfortunately doesn’t exist anymore. The main location was the town of Kustendil, where Hristov used to spend his summer vacations as a child. The inspiration for the ironical “provincial anecdote" came to him from the Czech cinema of the 60s and especially from Miloš Forman’s Loves of a Blonde and Jiří Menzel’s Closely Watched Trains.
The cast includes popular actors like Deayan Donkov and Ovaness Torosian and young emerging actors as well. The film is produced by Pro Film and is supported by the National Film Center which granted it with over 570,000 EUR.
Shooting of this black and white film lasted six weeks at the end of 2014. According to the DoP Emil Hristov „shooting in colour would have not been the right thing because of this particular story and it would have brought too much noise to the image.“
Although still in postproduction, the film was already selected for Moscow IFF, but the premiere is not yet known.
