Bulgarian National Film Centre supports FNE

    The Bulgarian National Film Centre (www.nfc.bg) has decided to support the work of Film New Europe (FNE) in 2009 with a grant of 2000 Euros.

    The grant will enable FNE to further its work in the area of promoting Bulgarian cinema internationally within the frames of the FNE project.

    The BNFC joins a group of prestigious film institutions who have supported FNE financially in 2009 that includes the Polish Film Institute, the Polish Filmmakers Association, the Hungarian Film Foundation, the Motion Picture Association of America, the Slovak Film Institute, the Slovenian Film Fund, the Estonian Film Foundation and the Visegrad Fund as well as the MEDIA programme of the European Union.

    In a statement, FNE executive director Anna Franklin said, "FNE is honoured to announce that Alexander Donev, general Executive Director of the BNFC, will be joining the board of the Film New Europe Association as the member representing Bulgaria in order to lend his expertise in the area of Bulgarian film. FNE would like to take this opportunity to thank once again all the organizations who support FNE and make it possible for us to continue the work of the international promotion of the audiovisual industries of central and Eastern Europe."
