PULA: The Istria Film Commission was launched during the Pula Film Festival as a unit within the Istrian Cultural Agency. It will perform several services free of charge for productions shooting in the region of Istria.

The Istria Film Commission was founded with the intention of promoting Istria as an attractive location, to raise awareness of the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the region, the unique features of its natural environment and tourism and to plan its further development.

Following the example of the Zadar Film Commission, the Istria Film Commission will help filming crews in location scouting, communication with public authorities and domestic productions and crew, obtaining filming permits, and access to data bases.

The website of the Istria Film Commission is already offering a catalogue of locations in the Region of Istria. Hrvoje Hribar, the Head of the Croatian Audiovisual Center (HAVC), said in Pula that the Istria Film Commission would “have their hands full” thanks to the beautiful filming locations in the region.
