The story of two friends who escape the boredom of their daily lives by starting a punk rock band is set in Prague in 1983 amidst the Communist-imposed period of "normalization" and the suffocating atmosphere under the rule of the secret police. The story, which Řeřicha also wrote, is based on personal experiences. The film features a cast of newcomers.
The film was shot over six weeks in May and June 2012, and debuted in the Czech Republic on 14 June 2012, distributed by Bontonfilm. It received a nomination in the Best Design category at the 2013 Czech Lions.
Ondřej Zima produced for Evolution Films. DonT Stop was coproduced by HBO Czech Republic (Prague), UPP (Prague), Bystrouska (Prague) and FilmFrame (Bratislava). The 800,000 EUR film was funded by the State Fund for the Support and Development of Czech Cinema, Programme for Support of the Film Industry and the Slovak Audiovisual Fund. The film's funding was 80% Czech and 20% Slovak.
