PRAGUE: Cédric Klapisch’s The Colors of Time / La Venue de l’avenir will open the 28th edition of the French Film Festival in Czech Republic, which will be held 20 - 26 November 2025 in Prague, Brno, České Budějovice, Hradec Králové, and Ostrava.

At the next edition of the Unifrance Rendez-Vous in Paris, Unifrance will present the Unifrance Broadcaster Award. This new prize aims to aknowledge the foreign broadcaster that has made the greatest contribution to promoting French audiovisual works internationally. This contribution may take the form of an investment strategy, an editorial offering or specific programming, or even the resources deployed to promote French programs abroad.

LYON: Hungarian veteran István Szabó was a Guest of Honour at the Lumière Festival held in Lyon, France from 11 to 19 October 2025, while Hungary was a Guest of Honour in the festival’s market. Restored films from Slovakia, Estonia, Bulgaria, Poland, and Czech Republic were screened in the festival.

Unifrance congratulates film director Jafar Panahi, his whole team, his French producer Philippe Martin (Les Films Pelléas), and co-producers Arte France Cinéma, Pio & Co and Bidibul Productions, whose film It Was Just an Accident will represent France for the Oscar for Best International Feature Film in 2026, following the decision of the selection committee who were brought together by the CNC on September 17.
