PRAGUE: Jan Hus, one of the biggest Czech TV projects ever, wrapped shooting after 63 days. The trilogy is using the new digital capture technology ARRI AMIRA, especially adapted to handheld shooting.

Based on the script by Eva Kantůrkova, the trilogy is directed by Jiří Svoboda with Vladimir Smutný as the DoP. The film stars Matěj Hádek. The project produced by the Czech Television and coproduced by ARTE originated as a commemoration of the 600th anniversary of the martyr death of the Czech early 15th century church reformer Jan Hus.

„The great news for us is that the French-German TV channel ARTE was so satisfied with our cooperation that they decided to further increase the agreed coproduction shares for common projects with the Czech TV planned for the next year,” said Petr Dvořák, General Manager of Czech Television in a press release.

Filming started in June 2014. The filmmakers shot on more than 20 locations in the Czech Republic using approximately 2,000 extras.
