OBITUARY: Producer Peter Kovarčík

    PRAGUE: Slovak-born producer and businessman Peter Kovarčík died as a result of an accident on 23 March 2015 at the age of 61.

    According to the Czech News Agency (CTK), Peter Kovarčík was found in his flat in Prague after having apparently slipped in the bathroom. The Czech police are investigating the circumstances of his death.

    Peter Kovarčík was the producer of Filip Renč’s highly anticipated biopic Lída Baarová (NoGup) and also participated in the production of musicals: Galileo, The Miserables and Mamma Mia!.

    Kovarcik owned the Teleaxis marketing company and was a long-term friend of former Czech president Vaclav Klaus. He was also a sports events organizer.
