Under the amendment the Czech State Cinematography Fund should receive around 200m CZK annually.
According to the Prague Post, during a visit to the International Karlovy Vary Film Festival (KVIFF), Sobotka said “This bill will really bring a change and I am glad that the film makers and producers present welcomed and supported it,”. If the parliament approves the law it will take effect as of January 2016.
The Czech government approved the draft amendment shortly before the film festival started.
