PRODUCTION: Alfred Molina and Cillian Murphy Cast in Estonian/Irish Animated Film

TALLINN: The Estonian animation studio A Film Estonia is coproducing a 26-minute animated film with Dublin’s Giant Animation. The Overcoat will be voiced by Cillian Murphy and Alfred Molina. Kristel Tolsepp is producing for A Film Estonia.

The film received funding from the Estonian Film Institute.

The film is an adaptation of Nikolai Gogol’s short story. Adapted for the screen by writer and executive producer Hugh O’Conor, the film is directed by Sean Mullen and A Film Estonia’s Meelis Arulepp. Murphy voices the role of an office clerk who saves up to buy an overcoat, only to have it stolen and return after his death to haunt the officials who refused to help him.
