BUDAPEST: Hungarian director György Pálfi (Hukkle, Taxidermia) will participate in the Berlinale Co-production Market with The Voice. The filmmakers are looking for coproducers and a world sales agent.

The Voice is produced by Ferenc Pusztai and KMH Film in coproduction with Emilie Blézat and Dávid Dusa through the French company Sciapode.

The film follows a young Hungarian man searching for his father whom he never met because the father left for the US. The search leads him into a secret US Government project his father was involved in. Pálfi cowrote the script with Zsófi Ruttkay and Nagy V. Gergő.

"Shooting will be in 2013 if the film is financially secured, and it will take about 35-40 days," Pusztai told FNE. Shooting dates are not yet set, and the main actors are not yet confirmed.

The budget is 1.1m EUR with 357,000 EUR already confirmed. "The project applied to the Hungarian National Film Fund for development, the 20% Tax Credit is guaranteed and 200,000 EUR is from our equity partner," Pusztai said.

The premiere is tentatively set for spring 2014.
